Camille Carlton

Senior Director of Strategy and Impact

Camille is the Senior Director of Strategy and Impact at Center for Humane Technology, where she shapes organizational strategy to ensure technology is designed and developed in the public interest. She combines deep thought leadership and tech ecosystem expertise to help CHT drive real-world impact — translating society’s most urgent issues around tech into strategies, ideas, and campaigns that move policy, public understanding, and industry practice.

Recognized as one of Business Insider's AI 100 in 2023, Camille works at the cutting edge of discourse-shifting topics in technology — including what it means to be human in the age of AI, levers that drive meaningful tech regulation, and how incentives influence the tech design that is reshaping society. Camille analyzes not just our immediate issues with AI and social media, but the broader implications of these issues across our personal lives, culture, and institutions. Her insights have made her a trusted voice in legislative efforts, landmark litigation against major tech companies, and the public conversation, from her 2026 TED Talk to coverage in major media.

Camille has been featured in Bloomberg, NBC News, and The New York Times, and her work has been published in Science and Tech Policy Press. She is an Aspen Tech Policy Hub Fellow and holds a master’s degree in development, with a focus on technology and society, from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
